Unearthed beneath the Collège Jeanne d’Arc in the mid-19th century, the Saint-Avit crypt (11th century) welcomes a sound installation created by artists from the Sound Art and Creations postgraduate course at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Bourges (Pendulum class).
The installation gathers auditory and sculptural works that invite the visitor to reflect on isolation and burying. The project explores the breadth of ideas about the subterranean and also refers to notions of secrecy, invisibility, fear, myths—all that circulates in silence, and that fundamentally eludes us.
