Luigi Pellegrin

Architect (1925 - 2001)

Luigi Pellegrin’s oeuvre is marked by a quest for an eco-urbanism redefining the boundaries between nature and civilized life. From the 1950s on, the Italian architect designed gigantic urban infrastructures which involved both an organicist approach inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and a pronounced liking for science-fiction. Pellegrin develops complex technological structures, incorporated in primitive architectural forms, in a relation of “organic continuity” with the landscape, and invariably loaded with a cosmic dimension.
