David Georges Emmerich

Published on the occasion of the David Georges EMMERICH / Architect-Engineer exhibition at the Fine Arts Museum of Orléans in 1997, this monographic volume presents the research of an essential figure of 20th-century architecture. A major representative of structural morphology in France, in the wake of Buckminster Fuller and Robert Le Ricolais, Emmerich started studying new construction forms in the 50s, based on the assembling and combination of complex geometrical structures. His research would exercise a decisive influence on the inflatable architectures of the 60s and 70s.
