Frida Escobedo and the iii (curatorial pair Luciano Concheiro and Xavier Nueno) have created in Théâtre d’Orléans a new landscape titled De la solitude à la desolation [From solitude to desolution].
In his 1950 book The Labyrinth of Solitude, Octavio Paz developed a concept of Mexican identity rooted in solitude. Here, the Mexican subject was characterized not by a feeling of inferiority, but of isolation and of difference. This exhibition contemplates the spatial consequences of the business and political policies that led to the erosion of state structures.
