Bloom Games (Alisa Andrasek, Jose Sanchez)

Created for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, Bloom Games is a team made up of Alisa Andrasek (the architect who founded BIOTHING), and Jose Sanchez, a former member of BIOTHING who today teaches in Texas. Alisa Andrasek lives in London and teaches at the Bartlett School of Architecture. A graduate of Zagreb University, she obtained a Masters Degree in Advanced Architectural Design at Columbia University in 2000. She founded BIOTHING in 2001, a laboratory focusing its research on the generative potential of computational, physical and digital systems. In 2005, she launched the CONTINUUM Collective, a research group specializing in software development. Her works have been shown in several exhibitions, and in particular at the 2003 Prague Biennale and the 2004 Sydney Biennale, at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York in 2005, and at the Maison Rouge in Paris in 2007. In 2009, her work joined the collections of the Centre Pompidou and the FRAC Centre, which published her first monograph and presented her research in the exhibition BIOTHING [Alisa Andrasek] a_maze (2009), and then in ArchiLab: Naturaliser l’architecture (2013).
