The Hylomorphic Project, 2005

Avec Kristina Shea et Marina Gourtovaia (Cambridge University)

This project was presented in the framework of the installation Clocks_Clouds for the Machines atmosphériques exhibition at the FRAC Centre in 2005. Hylomorphic Project results from an iterative process that seeks to optimize the morphology of the structure and create a state of equilibrium. Open Source Architecture developed a protocol called structural shape annealing defined as a stochastic system of evolutionary optimization. The Hylomorphic Project uses the iconic structure of Rudolph Schindler’s King’s Road House in West Hollywood as its testing ground.
