Dario Passi

Artist (1939)

Though deeply rooted in a culture involving architectural projects, the works of the painter and draughtsman Dario Passi lay claim to a complete visual autonomy. Echoing loudly with the research of Aldo Rossi, the graphic works of Massimo Scolari and the work of the painter Arduino Cantafora, Dario Passi is a genuine player in the “Tendenza”, that architectural current which re-introduced the symbolic signs of history into contemporary creation. Somewhere between figuration and abstraction, these two paintings forming a diptych present two studies for a “portico” and a “façade”. In it, architecture is expressed with a monumental strength which resounds with the permanence of forms of typologies which have traversed history.
