Christophe Desforges
  • Artist (1958)

Christophe Desforges was born in 1958 in Orléans and studied at the Institut d’Arts Visuels in Orléans, graduating in 1982.  His activities as a visual artist shifted from painting to sculpture and installation, but above all, to drawing.  The works acquired by the FRAC Centre are hallmarked by the large format of the graphic compositions and the contrasts of blacks and whites.  In addition to this production, Desforges designs stage sets and works with choreographers (Chistian Bourigault, Paco Décina, Olivia Granville), theatre directors (Jean-Christoph Cochard, Dominique Lurcel, Nasrin Pourhosseini) and opera directors (James Collon, Paco Décina).  He is president of the “Hop’njazz” Association which organizes jazz and improvised music programmes, and also teaches drawing and painting at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art in Lorient.
